EnergizeCare Announces Dr. Jennifer Stelter as Senior Advisor for Dementia Care, Education and Environment
EnergizeCare is pleased to announce that Dr. Jennifer Stelter has joined the organization as Senior Advisor for Dementia Care, Education and Environment.
Dr. Stelter is a dementia care educator, consultant and founder of the Dementia Connection Institute. Her work focuses on helping professionals, organizations and families better understand dementia and use practical, person-centered approaches to improve care, engagement and quality of life.
In her advisory role, Dr. Stelter will work with EnergizeCare as we continue to develop our respite care and meaningful engagement programs and prepare to open Lisa’s Place in Dublin.
She will provide guidance on dementia-friendly environmental design, including lighting, color, furniture, room layout, wayfinding, safety and accessibility. She will also review EnergizeCare programming and help us continue to develop activities that are appropriate, purposeful and engaging for people living with dementia.
“For EnergizeCare, this is about putting good dementia education into practice,” said Dr. Kenneth Vitellas, Founder and President of EnergizeCare. “Jennifer brings years of experience and a practical understanding of how the environment, communication and meaningful engagement can make a real difference in the lives of people living with dementia. I am very grateful that she has agreed to serve as an advisor to our organization.”
Dr. Stelter will also serve as an educational resource as EnergizeCare expands dementia training for volunteers, caregivers, healthcare professionals, students and community organizations.
Her advisory role builds on the partnership between EnergizeCare and the Dementia Connection Institute and reflects a shared interest in improving dementia care throughout Central Ohio.
EnergizeCare is a Central Ohio nonprofit organization providing respite care, meaningful engagement, education, support and community resources for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias and their care partners.
