Jimmy John’s New Albany Partners with EnergizeCare Central Ohio to Create Moments of Joy

Jimmy John’s Has Become Part of the Experience

Sometimes the best partnerships happen naturally.

For the past several months, we have been bringing Jimmy John’s subs to our respite sessions at Healthy New Albany and our Thursday outings at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium.

We noticed something pretty quickly: people loved them.

Participants looked forward to lunch. Volunteers and staff enjoyed sitting down with everyone. The conversation around the table flowed. Jimmy John’s simply became part of our day together.

That matters at EnergizeCare.

Our programs for people living with early to moderate Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias are built around intentional engagement. Music, movement, storytelling, art, animals, nature, familiar sights and sounds—and even taste and smell—can create opportunities for connection.

We think of our shared lunches as intentional gustatory stimulation. Familiar flavors and aromas can engage emotional memory, but just as important is what happens around the table: people talk, laugh, share stories and enjoy being together.

Now we are making it official.

Jimmy John’s New Albany, owned by Kayla Wilson and supported by Store Manager Daniel Monte, is becoming the Founding Community Lunch Partner of EnergizeCare Central Ohio through our new Jimmy John’s Moments of Joy Engagement Program.

Under the partnership, EnergizeCare will be able to purchase up to eight Giant Subs for each 3.5-hour engagement session at a 50% discount from Jimmy John’s New Albany.

As EnergizeCare grows, so will the program. Jimmy John’s will be part of our engagement programming at Lisa’s Place in Dublin, Healthy New Albany, the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, and additional locations and sessions as we expand.

Jimmy John’s New Albany will also be recognized alongside our other community partners at the Champions of Care Fundraising Event and appropriate community events, including activities surrounding the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
