Love Transportation Launches "Rides to Joy" Partnership with EnergizeCare
On Saturday, July 18, 2026, EnergizeCare officially launched its "Rides to Joy" transportation partnership with Love Transportation, marking another important milestone in our mission to help individuals living with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias continue to live with dignity, purpose, and joy.
Transportation is often one of the greatest challenges facing care partners. Many families are unable to participate in respite and engagement programs simply because they no longer have safe or reliable transportation. Through this new partnership, Love Transportation is helping remove that barrier by providing transportation to and from EnergizeCare programs, allowing more individuals to experience meaningful social engagement while providing much-needed respite for their care partners.
The first transportation service began on Saturday, July 18, transporting participants to EnergizeCare's weekly respite and cognitive engagement program at Healthy New Albany.
This partnership is about much more than transportation. It represents independence, dignity, connection, and the belief that every person living with dementia deserves the opportunity to remain engaged in their community.
As EnergizeCare prepares to open Lisa's Place, our first freestanding Adult Enrichment and Cognitive Engagement Center in Dublin this September, we are excited to continue expanding this partnership with Dr. Love and the Love Transportation team. Together, our vision is to grow the "Rides to Joy" program throughout Central Ohio, reaching families across the north, south, east, and west with Love Transportation's fleet so that transportation is never a barrier to receiving respite, engagement, education, and support.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Dr. Love and everyone at Love Transportation for believing in our mission and joining us in serving families affected by dementia with compassion and excellence.
We also extend a special thank you to Shanikka Gibson, Founder of The Michael Powell Foundation, whose introduction helped bring this partnership together. Her leadership and commitment to supporting care partners continue to strengthen the network of services available to families throughout our community.
Together, we are building a future where every family has access to hope, connection, and compassionate support throughout the dementia journey.
There is more to the person than the dementia.
It is possible to live well with dementia.
They may forget who you are, but they will never forget how you made them feel.
